Losing your natural teeth can affect the way you eat, speak, look, and feel about yourself. The highly-skilled dentists at Town Dentistry can help you rediscover the true beauty of your smile and bring back your confidence using full and partial dentures.

Dentures are removable prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth. They are supported by surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. A full denture, also called a complete denture, replaces all of the natural teeth and provides support for cheeks and lips. By replacing missing teeth, dentures not only support sagging facial muscles, but also improve a person’s ability to speak and eat. Full dentures are divided into two categories – conventional and immediate – depending on when they are made and inserted into the mouth.

Conventional dentures are made and inserted after the remaining teeth are removed and the tissues have healed. Conventional dentures can incorporate subtle details to fit your mouth and bite, allowing you to choose the size, shade, and type of artificial teeth used. They usually take several months to measure, mold, and fit, but with proper care and maintenance, can last for many years. Immediate dentures are inserted immediately after the removal of the remaining teeth. The advantage of immediate dentures is that the patient does not have to be without teeth during the healing period. Another advantage of immediate dentures is the ability to duplicate the shape, color, and arrangement of your natural teeth while some are still present in your mouth. However, immediate dentures may require adjustment to fit properly after gums shrink from the healing period.

Removable Dentures

A removable partial denture fills in the space created by missing teeth and fills out your smile. A removable partial denture usually consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored plastic bases, which are connected by metal framework, and attach to your natural teeth with metal clasps or precision attachments. Precision attachments are nearly invisible, but often require crowns on your natural teeth for a precise fit, and generally cost more than those with metal clasps.

We offer several types of dentures: complete, partial, transitional, metal-based and acrylic-based. Our dentures are robust, strong, long-lasting and fitted to perfection.
